Paula has a very unique way of teaching. Paula is an absolutely fabulous teacher for both performance and vocals. She’s honest, dedicated and motivational. She really makes an effort to get to know her students so that each lesson is individualized and personal. You come out of each session feeling like you’ve learnt something more about both music and yourself. She focuses on bringing out the real ‘you’ into every part of a performance. She teaches you how to make the performance sincere to watch yet comfortable to perform. Her vocal exercises are phenomenal. I am one of Paula's students and I must say, she is an amazing vocal coach and friend!! She takes the time out to be a friend and not just a teacher. I met Miss G (Paula Griffith) about 12 years ago. I instantly was drawn to the quality of her singing. It absolutely touched my heart. In the years that I lived in Toronto, I would have Paula over to our home for our musical entertainment extravaganzas, where we invited both professional and amateur musicians and artists to participate. Paula makes an instant impression...She commands the stage and struts like a true Diva dancing along side the musicians and always addressing the audience. Miss G. has the magic and fundamental aura of what music is all about. The first time I was blessed with this ethereal aura was at our first fundraiser just prior to launching our charitable youth outreach music program called: The Riverdale Academy of New Music: Riverdale Rocks! I was working the raffle and beverage area and briefly left to get more supplies. When I went to go back into the room, there was this large crowd blocking the doorway and this unbelievable voice resonating throughout our studio. I jumped up to look over the crowd and there was the beautiful Miss G. singing Amazing Grace A cappella and there wasn't a dry eye in the room. So beautiful was her rendition that the guest bands of our fundraiser had stopped playing! I knew then and there that this was the start of a beautiful friendship - and I would do anything to have her on board as our lead vocal coach for our workshops and lucky for us she agreed.

I can honestly say that Paula has completely surpassed any expectation that we may have had about her abilities as a vocal coach, a champion to youth and a patient friend and mentor to all in our program. I have seen first hand how her unique style of teaching and encouragement has brought out existing and non-existing talent. Her techniques and gentle way of building confidence has changed the lives of many many of our youth. In fact, "non-beleivers" such as: "I rap, don't sing man" have been transformed and come back voluntarily for more.
